Our Unique Facelift: The FACEology LIFT
Published on December 29, 2016 by FACEOLOGYMDAs people get older, signs of aging get more visible on their face. These signs include sagging skin, creases along the lower eyelids and nose, jowls, and a double chin. The degree of aging is dependent on factors like heredity, environment, and stress. A facelift is the key to turning back the clock on facial aging.
While a traditional facelift is helpful, our unique FACEology LIFT can make a world of difference in a shorter period of time. This revolutionary facelift has been designed by optimizing the processes for a traditional facelift such that the results look more natural, only local anesthesia is needed, the process is less invasive, and the recovery period is shorter.
Am I the Right Candidate?
A FACEology LIFT is a good option for anyone of legal age who is in good health. Smoking will hinder healing, so smokers are advised to stop smoking for two weeks before the procedure. The most important part of being prepared for a FACEology LIFT is to have a detailed discussion with your surgeon where you can be prepared with realistic expectations for the outcome of the procedure.
The FACEology LIFT Procedure
The traditional facelift procedure typically requires general anesthesia to complete. The FACEology LIFT, on the other hand, only requires local anesthesia, making for much fewer potential side effects and no recovery time from the anesthesia.
A traditional lift involves making long incisions on the hairline and along the ears in order to get the excess skin removed. Our procedure requires multiple shorter incisions that are easily hidden by the hairline and borders of the ears.
Once the incisions are made, we remove excess fat and skin. To make the facelift more comprehensive and natural, we also tighten the SMAS layer, a deeper layer of tissue. This will completely eradicate jowls and tighten the neck.
Our procedure covers numerous areas of the face and neck and leaves you looking younger. Not only is our procedure more comprehensive, it also takes a shorter time period to perform – only one and a half to two hours.
The Recovery Period
Your surgeon will give you specific instructions about taking care of your face and will answer questions regarding subjects such as when it will be alright to apply make-up again and when sutures will be removed.
After the surgery, bandages and dressings are applied around the face to keep the incision sites covered and prevent swelling. For the traditional facelift, patients can get back to work within a month after the procedure. For our unique procedure, the recovery period is shorter (just one week), as there is less damage to the surrounding skin. Any facelift incisions must be catered to tenderly and not stretched or forced in any way.
The Results of the Procedure
The results of this procedure come out as expected most of the times. Most of the swelling and bruising will subside over the course of around one week. After the swelling and bruising is gone, the final results of the procedure will be visible. The results of the facelift last for a long time if proper skin care routines are followed and ample sun protection is provided. While this procedure is relatively permanent, it can be affected by aging.
